Okay so after my post on Windows Vista Ultimate I got thinking of what older Windows operating systems I used to use. I actually was surprised when I found that I've used several different systems, and even still to this day own some of the CD's for them, even going back to Windows 3.1! Yes it's true I have used Windows 3.1 and can I just say that paint rocked on it. Screw MS paint now, Windows 3.1 paint was where it was at. Old school baby! But seriously here's a list of Windows operating systems I have used.

Windows 3.1:

This was my first ever computer! God I remember it so well. Brings back memories and a tear to my eye! I remember playing solitare on it alot.

Windows 3.11 for Workgroups:

Yes I actually used this system, My grandma's PC has this on I usually played games on it when I had to stay round there during school holidays and stuff like that!

Windows 98/Windows ME:

The was actually one of my favorite operating systems, even though I didn't understand it all at the age of like 9, but hey Windows 98 was good! This was installed on first proper desktop PC which my mum bought for me in 2000. However the PC came with Windows ME pre-installed but it didn't work and crashed alot so I went backwards to 98 and it was much more stable, however I did get the BSOD alot (Blue Screen of Death) but didn't know what it meant because I was so young. For anyone that doesn't know what a BSOD is and uses Windows, you haven't lived until you see one:

BSOD

(A typical Windows Crash, the screen appears when the computers kernel, also known as the programming fails, errors, or stops working. The whole Ctrl + ALT + DEL key combination fame started here!)

Windows 2000/NT:

I then went on to use Windows 2000 and that was much more stable on my PC than anything else until about 1 year after installing it when I lost a critical file within the PC's C:/ called winsock.dll and It wouldn't let me do much without this certain file, and I couldn't obtain it from anywhere because this file was needed for the internet to work. But besides that great system! Didn't crash much and I never got the Blue Screen of death.

Windows XP:

In 2005, I built a custom PC with my friend Chris (Who is a IT/Computer Engineer) and then finally got my own Desktop PC that I bought with my own money so it was all mine! I was dead excitied because I'd always been using older systems than everyone else and I was behind, even my school had better PC's at one point, but anyway I finally bought my desktop, and infact im type on my XP desktop right now, it's 3 years old, but Im never getting rid of this baby! It runs XP flawlessly and I can get whatever I want done on it with ease.

Windows Vista:

Although I've have had Vista installed on my laptop for only a few days I really do like it, regardless of the Vista haters I think it's a excellent system, but it's a shame I couldn't install it on my Desktop as well, but complications with hardware (Even though that upgrade advisor says my hardware is fine) came up and have stopped me from being able to do that, but to be honest, I still love Windows XP and if it's here to stay I'd certainly take it in. And im certainly keeping my Windows XP Disc for years to come!

Whats your favorite?

So whats your favorite? After thinking about it my favorite would either be Windows 98 or Windows XP. I would love to say Vista but I haven't used it for long and I can't really give my proper opinion on it until I've used it for a while, but I love Windows 98, especially Windows 98 Second Edition it was stable and reliable. And I love XP, simply because it's stable and it's still used in school's and work places and still will be because it's reliable and even Microsoft still love it as they've increased the support for windows XP to 2014! So obviously Microsoft still want the XP dream to be alive!
