10th September: The earth ends?

Well apparently the worlds going to end tomorrow (10th September) which sucks because I get my laptop, and it has Windows Vista on and everything! But apparently many people are convinced that the Large Hadron Collier will destroy the entire cosmos. If there are any other civilizations watching us from other planets there problem just laughing there faces off at the human race because panicking and causing wide spread panic is what we seem to do best. Yes I'm looking at you THE MEDIA! But because I'm too ignorant to care about the doomsday theories or the scientific bullcrap behind it all, I'll give you my interpretation of the while Hadron Collider

The Large Hadron Collier is a £4 Billion + project to develop a machine that is aimed to answer the fundamental questions of life and why we exist and to break down all of those atoms there are in our world. It has the power of what the big bang was had and so it's generally going to run you over if you get in the way of it (perhaps reduce you to atoms) but many people and even scientists have apparently calculated that when this machine is turned on it will create a unstoppable black hole that will pull the entire earth, the moon, the sun and our solar system in with it. (Probably a ride that will be better than any Alton towers ride lasting only 0.8 seconds and followed by some funky swoosh sound at the end as we get pulled into the black hole)

Here's a interesting image of the machine thats apparently going to doom us all:

collider

Not exactly your average X-Ray machine is it? And this something to scare the kids, thats only a fragment of the many thousands of parts of the machine.

The Large Hadron Collier is based several feet below ground under Geneva between the Swiss-French border and strenches through various tunners underground of a massive radius of about 20 odd miles and so if it all fails the United Kingdom will be affected pretty quickly as we're unlucky enough to be positioned next to them on the world map, to be honest this whole doomsday talk is only a theory, but you also have to take into account that the scientists working on the Hadron Collier project have no way of telling what will happen once they flick that lovely red switch to power it on. Actually it's more like 1600 switches and multiple start up sequences to actually turn it on! (I think one of those big shiny red buttons would be much easier myself)

Okay so apparently the people behind the Large Hadron Collier believe that this machine when turned on will reveal this secret particle now called "Higgs Particle" and also known as the "God particle" yet what makes it quite scary is that there is no concrete evidence of this particle even existing only loads of research and theory. So we have a few scenarios:

1. The "God Particle" (Doesn't it sound so dominating) will appear before the scienctists and say "Hello I am the secret particle, you have found me after the longest game of hide and seek ever! You've got one century to go hide then im coming to destroy humanity!"

2. This machine becomes a waste of £4 billion (of lovely moneys) and all of the crazy pyscho's that wanted the world to end get what they wanted and we all get pulled into a nice black hole

3. They turn on the machine and actually find that nothing happens and Radio 4 have just broadcasted the worst show since Big Brother.

4. Here's my final scenario with would be so awesome. They re-create the big bang with this machine and form a new mini civiliastion within the actual Large Hadron Collier, and there will be a mini earth, mini moon, mini sun, mini starbucks MINI EVERYTHING! It will be so cool

So from the perspective of a 16 year old the possibilities are endless! From science it's a much more serious perspective (damn) the people part of the project believe that there machine will reveal the special particle that I talked about earlier that apparently has something to do with the Big bang and the creation of the universe. Now I understand how everyone is curious about life's question but seriously, if it "aint" broke why try and fix it, this planet is in trouble as it is with the threat of Global Warming (Ha ha we might be all gone tomorrow so snooze you lose global warming) and many countries are struggling with food, petrol etc thanks to the ecnomy deciding to do a massive belly flop on us all.

So this is basically to anyone that reads my blog, or came across it. Thanks for the viewing numbers, if we don't survive it's been great blogging! (For anyone thats actually scared of this doomsday theory actually occurring. Don't be! There's like a 1 in 50000000th chance of this happening and in the end it's just a theory, but then again so is this whole "God Particle" Your so confused what to think now aren't you?!
