Say hello to the new look!

Welcome back James' Blog viewers, if you've been seeing the offline page for while and want answers to the reason why, then here's the post thats explains all. If you haven't noticed James' Blog has new a layout! It was secretly kept under wraps as I wanted it to be a suprise for everyone. I promised myself that I'd make time to release a new 2009 version of James' Blog and here it is, A whole brand new look and style to James' Blog. Designing it made me late for college, anti-social and tired after staying up countless nights getting it done. But god it was worth it, Read more about the new theme named Renovatio

Why is the new theme called Renovatio? Well the word Renovatio is latin for re-birth and I thought thats exactly whats happened here, the new 2009 layout is making James' Blog reborn and new again (And because Renovatio is a cool latin word which not many people will know or be able to pronouce muahahaha) but the new layout is here. Im really happy how it came out in the end, but god did it take some doing. In actual fact the was a delay in bringing the new layout on as I discovered that Internet Explorer 7 did not want to display anything correctly, so that took some fixing and delayed me, but I managed to get cross broswer development working and the new layout should display correctly in all browsers. However my eyes do are actually crying out to me to rest, but later on tonight I might do one final check.

So whats new in Renovatio? Well the whole is new obviously, but generally there are also new features to the layout to, one being that lovely rotating banner you see at the top, notice the images such as "New Tutorial" and "Latest update" are rotating round, this is the new news bar, well essentially a news bar. Say instead of just posting about a new blog update there will also be a banner image that advertises the new post as well. It rotates different images and has a nice fade in/out effect on it. Generally though, this new layout brings James' Blog up to date and gives a fresh new perspective. Im pretty excited about it, and I hope you all are to.

Sorry for the offline time, but like I said this was all secret and didn't want to spoil the suprise by telling you the site would be offline as it would only make you all think "WHY?!" and I would certainly not want to deceive any of you! Thanks for viewing the new layout, hope you enjoy it!

    Looks good James!

The pagination images don't display in IE8 and the footer looks like there's something wrong with it spacing wise.

    But really nice!

Looks really good. Isn't IE8 still in beta? Beta's are cool to a certain extent, most of the time am going back to other browsers cause a lot of issues with Betas!

    Overall, Superior!!!!!!

    Thanks,

Yeah IE8 is Beta 2, even though I think Fire G has the final because he knows some people lol and managed to get hold of it...

I have it installed and I do code around it, as I think with Beta 2 it's actually decent enough to code round and you'll notice. IE8 and FF 3 are very similar display ways. Infact it's IE7 that was a issue when developing this layout and I don't even bother to develop with IE6 anymore. Sorry but the redundancy scale is 10 for IE6.

Glad you like the layout :)
