Website Development Tools: Image Uploader

A few months ago in a random blog update post, I talked about providing some free website development tools for anyone to use, while I did mention this quite a while ago, I have started creating these tools, and today I finished the official image uploader for James' Blog. Using the script that was featured in this tutorial I have created a public image uploader, which is free for anyone to use. Yes there are alternative services which are dedicated image/file hosts, ImageShack being one of them, but I have the webspace for small uploads and im not going to completly visually rape you with silly advertisements so why the hell not!

Like I said, the image uploader is powered by the script featured in the creating a file/image uploader tutorial, so it's not BETA or anything it works, so it's labelled as Version 1 or if you like decimals Version 1.0. I think over time I'll probably make additions to the image uploader and you'll see the nice little V 1.0 stamp change to 1.5 or something, but for now it will be left alone while I develop some other website development tools.

I should probably mention how you can check out this uploader, I've been talking about it for a few paragraphs nows I gave you no clue to where it is. Well if you look on the navigation bar and hover your mouse over the Resources section you'll find some nice jQuery Sexyness happens and you'll see Tools in the drop down menu that follows, hover your mouse over that and you'll see a few options appear, one will be the Image Uploader. Click on it and you will see... WAIT WHAT??! Where did WordPress and Renovatio go?! Yes thats right, I decided to create a simple page that doesn't use anything of the renovatio theme. When you click on the image uploader if you see something like this:

Uploader

Then don't worry because you're still on James' Blog, I just decided to go with something simple for a layout. Renovatio is obviously still epic but how the content area works really doesn't suit the uploader for the vision I had in mind and so I decided to go with a independant style for the tools which I plan to use on any website development tools I create.

Well thats it really, just thought I'd announce the new tool! By the way, has anyone noticed the random square bars on the sidebar after the last tab, just thought they'd be something cool to have, plus if you get lazy and can't be bothered to scroll to the navigation bar use them as shortcuts! Everyone is a winner right?
