Whats James up to lately?

post-thumb

You may have noticed that I haven't been active in the March month as much as I'd hoped. The main reason behind this is because of exams that are approaching in about a months time and im finding myself not having time to post on my blog and generally my internet activities (That probably sounds wrong) but yeah I thought I'd post this to announce that im still here. Infact If you've noticed im still here reply to people posting comments on my various articles but just can't find the time to post new content.

Like I said, I have exams coming up in about a months time, so im finding myself revising alot which is really cutting into various things like gaming and blogging. God I hate revision, It's really annoying don't we all just love it. But yeah thats one of the main reasons why I haven't been posting much recently.

Another reason is because I also have a unofficial job going on. Because im a bit of a gamer I play all sorts of FPS games, and one of the main ones I play is Counter Strike Source, about a year ago and friend and I invested in a Counter Strike Source server. It's a 16 slots server which over the months has got quite popular, and as admin, I make sure the server runs smoothly, not only that but I am the server operator so I control the server both in game via FTP and admin panel. Because of the server becoming popular I've been talking to regular players and the've been giving me feedback on performance and other factors of the server and I've been fine tuning and performance maintainance. I've been working on the server alot lately but it's been worth it. The server is now performing better than ever and players have reported good feedback on my changes.

Generally busy really, so im finding hard to post new stuff on my blog but I've got some exciting new articles planned in the upcoming future so watch this space! Don't worry though im still here. Im still managing (Just) to check my emails and respond to all your lovely people leaving me comments on articles and posts!

To have one thing you must lose another

Thats a quote that my life resolves around alot. Last night I was working on my IT Coursework on Task 3 of the coursework booklet. The task is to create a quotation system in Microsoft Excel for a carpet company called DM carpets, after you have created the quotation system with all of the relative formulae and formulas you then have to screenshot each part of the quotation system and show evidence of how It works. I was doing this last night and managed to get 5 pages of explianation. After I finished I saved the document (As you do) but I'd sent the work home via a email attachment and realised I was editing the attachment document, I hadn't saved it to my computer it was just being opened off the attachment.

A blast from the past

post-thumb

It was most defiantly a "blast from the past" moment today in my A level I.T class for the coursework Task 2 of 4 is to create a website for a company called DM Carpets (It's all part of the specification, it's not a real organisation) but task two is to create a website with specific pages and specific content but of course the layout is up to you, which is great as Website Development might as well be my middle name. Today was mainly about the theory of it all and I don't want to sound big headed here but I knew it already, but I have been in the website development scene for a few years so it's nothing new to me.

Dubstep what the hell is that all about?

post-thumb

If you know me well, then you should defiantly know that I am a metal head who likes anything metal, because it's bloody awesome and the world would be a better place if we all listened to metal. Of course music is very opinionated and there will be many that disagree with my opinion, thats okay, no hard feelings, but of course with the music I like comes genres of music that absolutely dispise (With great intensity) and they include Rap, Indie, R & B and loads more, basically anything thats not metal. Because I just find it hard to relate to them. But that doesn't mean I don't respect them! Ever music genre is different and everyone is entitled to like and dislike different genres. A interesting (Not really interesting to me) but a fairly new genre of music thats hit our nation is dubstep and is based off from the genre of music called garage and although I don't like it. I recongise it as a music genre, but just I don't think I'll ever like it. You may be thinking then why the hell are you posting about Dubstep then? Well the whole inspriation from this post started with a conflict in the common room as Sixth form (Or college however you want to see it as)

The Terany of Maths: Fear the numbers!

post-thumb

If you know me then you'll know that I hate maths, I always have and always will, but schools teach it so there's no getting away from it. I am who I am, but me hating Maths is quite strange as my dad is an account that is just stupidly good with numbers, obviously when I was born the maths gene in my dad wasn't passed down, so I got the raw deal there. I'm more inclined to say that I got my mum's maths gene! But for everything else I am much like my dad. Which is good because I can breathe easily ruling out the conclusion of being adopted. Then again I do have curly hair and no one in the family does. So..... Anyway on with the post!
